Halfway There

We're officially halfway through the pregnancy! It still seems a long ways off but it feels good to say halfway. Everything is going pretty well so far. The nausea is getting better on most days. I'm starting to feel movement. Still just feels like butterflies but I notice it more often now. Here's a few pictures...I'm getting to be quite the self-photographer. I take the pictures on Wednesdays and since Matt's at school I have to get creative. Funny story about that...I had to get the camera up high to take the pictures so I originally had a bunch of stuff piled on top of a TV tray - like a dozen magazines, four Twilight books, and a couple boxes containing things which will not be named (i.e. Christmas presents). And Matt never even asked what it was for. The other day I was starting the clean-out process on the office and wondered if just stacking two tv trays would be high enough. So I tried it and it worked great. And then I got made fun of. I thought it was a good idea.

Oh and this picture looks like I have stretch marks...I don't. I had just gotten up and still had marks on my stomach from my clothes. No stretch marks yet thanks to pretty much every cream with the works "for stretch marks" on it sitting on my bathroom counter. Ha!
And no, we haven't decided on a name. Far from it. And even if we had, I don't think we're telling until he gets here anyway!

Big Announcement

We had our sono today and are proud to announce that we are having...

A BOY
We are so excited and are happy that everything looked great on the sono!!
(Again with the no scanner thing so we can't post sono pics right now. Hopefully sometime....but trust me, it's definitely a boy!)

1000 visitors

We've had 1000 visitors to the blog and I missed it! Our ticker says 1012 now...and I only added the ticker a few months ago. Amazing and yet a little creepy that that many people are reading about us. Just wish Blogger told me who all of them were!

Baby update

Here I am at 17 weeks...well, tomorrow. But close enough. Starting to get a bump. I didn't start taking pictures like this every week until about 14 weeks but here's a picture from 8 weeks to compare.

We had our 3rd appt yesterday for the baby. We met with Dr. Feuille this time (the last two were with his PA). I had already met him before when I worked in Labor and Delivery but Matt obviously hadn't. It was another quick visit. He just measured my stomach...not really sure what result he got there bc when I lay down there's still not much there. He also listened to the heartbeat. This time is was in the 140s. Last time was 150-160s. Baby must be more comfortable now. Ha. We will go back on the 6th for the 18 week sono and will be able to find out the sex then. Then it will be back to every 4 weeks for awhile. That's about it!

Jamie Michelle

It's been a little while since I'd seen her and she's gotten so big! She is crawling and standing with help and saying momma (not actually referring to Chantel...). She turns one on November 4! She's lots of fun.

I found a pink purse for her the other day and she loves it. Well, loves to chew on it!

Isn't she adorable??

A little update...

Not a lot new going on in our lives. Matt's football season is winding down and I don't think he's upset about that. The plan is for him to NOT coach football next year. I'll believe that when I see it. :) He says school is going well...same old. I don't know if I mentioned it but he is working on his masters in Curriculum and Instruction online. It's going well so far. It's based on two-week assignment blocks and so far he's been scrambling on the last couple days before to get it done. Who would have thought...Matt procrastinate? No.

I've just been working. I changed my schedule to make it a little more "days off in a row" friendly. Now I work five one, two off, two on, five off. Before I was still working five in a row but only had 2 and 3 days off at a time. I've only had five off once so far but it was nice...made it kinda hard to go back to work though. And my hands definitely noticed. Ha. That sounds funny...but I went five days without washing them every five minutes for hours on end so they were a little dry and red. Hopefully that has something to do with the changing weather too and it won't last.

The pregnancy is going well. I'm 13 weeks (and five days if you're counting) now. I'm still sick but I finally got some Zofran and it seems to be helping. I didn't necessarily want to take anything and frankly was pretty surprised they gave it to me since I wasn't throwing up all the time. But, they did and so far it's been great. We had an appt last week and heard the heartbeat for the first time. It was kinda weird to hear something going on inside me that I can't feel or see but it was really cool. Our next appt will be at about 17 weeks so shortly after that I'll have my first real sono where the baby actually looks like a baby...and we should be able to find out the sex. I'm still kinda on the fence about finding out but Matt says we definitely are. We'll see who wins. Ha.

Oh, and in case you were wondering...yes, Halloween-palooza is going on next door again this year. On Oct 1st our neighbor was outside with a huge smile on his face hauling out his immense collection of Halloween goodies. It looks pretty much the same as last year with the addition of a couple things and some re-vamped scarecrows. He seems pretty excited. We are, well, just glad he's having a good time.

Have a wonderful day.

One-stop-shopping

So, whoever thought up the Wal-Mart Supercenter was a genius. Seriously. I went there yesterday and left with everything from dog treats to yogurt to pumpkins to a pillow. I don't know about you but I absolutely hate driving from store to store, trying to find a parking spot, running inside for one item, then going on to the next place. Wow, I guess that kinda makes me sound old. Or maybe just lazy. Ha. Anyway, in the last couple weeks I've been very unhappy with my pillow situation. I couldn't really tell you what was wrong with it...just everything I guess. And maybe I was just trying to blame the fact that I can't sleep on something other than me. So, I bought a new one and guess what? Still couldn't sleep. In the last 3 or so weeks I have gone from someone who never, and I mean NEVER, got up at night to go to the bathroom no matter what time I drank a whole glass of water, to someone to gets up at least once, probably more like 2 or 3 times before I even fall asleep and then at least 2 or 3 more times during the night. It seems as though if I can get past like 3am then I can sleep until I wake up without having to get up. But that doesn't mean I don't do the potty dance on the way to the bathroom as soon as I wake up! Obviously this is happening bc I'm pregnant but seriously....you would think I would be shriveling up by now bc I don't drink that much! I'm pretty sure I'm getting harder to sleep with to bc most days I wake up at about 3 and Matt is on the couch sleeping. He said he just wakes up and can't go back to sleep but I'm almost positive it's bc I toss and turn like nobody's business. The dog has even taken to sleeping under the bed until there's only one of us in bed. Ha. Anyway, maybe TMI for some of you but that's my current situation with the pregnancy. Everything else is going well with it though. My next appt is next week and we should be able to hear the heartbeat then.
If you think of it, please pray for 2 of our friends. Both got pregnant at the same time we did (one actually had the same due date) and now both have lost their babies. The first lost hers only a few weeks into the pregnancy and the second just lost hers yesterday at about 10 weeks. This is a first pregnancy for both so please just think of them. And pray for us too please. It makes me pretty nervous since I have been at the same spot in my pregnancy both times as both of them. Thanks.
