Christmas 2011

Sorry to disappoint but I don't have any pictures to upload but I wanted to go ahead and document what we did this year before I forget. I'll get those pics up as soon as I get them off the camera.
I had this year off for Christmas which was good however, that meant I worked the 21, 22, and 23. I haven't worked 3 in a row since I switched to part time almost 2 years ago. It nearly killed me!

We had our first Christmas with Matt's dad's family on the 23rd at Dan and Shannon's house. There were lots of people there and lots of kids! Landon had a ball watching them play. He was a little apprehensive about joining them though. He latched on to one of Matt's cousin and she kept him safe. :)

The next get together was in Whitewater for my mom's family on the 24th. I took taco soup to share. There are 4 boys under the age of 4 there so lots of fun. Landon really likes my cousin's son Jude. They are funny together.

We opened presents here in the morning on Christmas. Santa and mom and dad brought Landon a Leappad, Christmas pajamas, Lightening McQueen slippers, a blankie, a Cars plate, Christmas books, and an Elmo DVD. In his stocking he got balloons, 4 little Elmo books, and a small football. The Leappad was obviously his big gift and the rest were just small things so he would have a couple presents from us and a couple from Santa.

We decided to start a couple traditions this year. The first was to get new Christmas pajamas on Christmas Eve to wear. The other is to receive a Christmas book each year. We will read the new book and the one from the previous year.

After presents, we went to Dan and Shannon's for the Terbush side. We were the last to arrive (everyone else spent the night) so they were all waiting for us. We opened presents and ate lunch.  Well, we ate lunch and Landon had a minor meltdown and got to spend his lunchtime napping.

Next we went to Towanda for my dad's side. We got there at 5 and opened presents and had dinner.  We went to my aunt and uncle's house this year instead of my grandparents which works a lot better.  My grandparents house is pretty small and 14+ people trying to fit in the living room doesn't work very well.

On the 27th we had our gift exchange with my family.  We went over there in the morning and opened presents (after Matt made a run to Wal-Mart because we forgot the bag with diapers in it...oops).  Then we ate lunch and hung out while Landon napped.  That was an experience as well because the bag with diapers also contained the paci.  We try to not use the paci during naptime at home but when we are somewhere else it is just a lot easier to use it.

We had a great Christmas this year and it was fun to watch Landon, even though he was kinda done with opening presents by the end.  I think it had more to do with the fact that he wanted to play with everything he opened and we were pushing him to keep going.  Either way, he's a fun little boy.

I might add that at each of our extended family Christmases Landon wore a special shirt proclaiming "I'M THE BIG BROTHER".  Yep, that's right, we are having another baby.  I'm due July 27.  Things are going pretty good so far. I've had a fair share of nausea and some throwing up but knock on wood it seems to be getting a bit better (I'm 10 weeks).  I'm trying to be optimistic because I was taking anti-nausea meds until 20 weeks with Landon.  Being pregnant with a little one is definitely different than not.  I'm pretty exhausted all the time.  :)  We are very excited though and can't wait to see Landon be a big brother.
I don't know who all reads this but I do have kind of a selfish prayer request to go along with this pregnancy.  I would LOVE to avoid a c-section which means I need to have a significantly smaller baby this time since Landon's size was the only reason I had one last time.  So, can you guys pray for a baby that will fit?  Sounds kinda funny saying it but I would love for it to work out.  It's not the end of the world if I have to have a c-s again if it means a healthy, smooth delivery.  Thanks!

We enjoyed every minute we spent with you guys over Christmas. It always goes way too fast though! Praying for a healthy baby and an easy delivery....maybe this baby will be about the size Kelsey was! Talia is adding one more little request I'm sure! :-)
